The Bar at HSC

Chris Shambrook (aka Shaka) is bar manager at HSC and welcomes members and non members. His well stocked bar includes guest ales from local breweries such as Firebird, Hepworths, and Dark Star.

We have 4 bar TVs showing Sky TV, BT Sports and Amazon Prime.

Catering

Sophie’s Kitchen cater for club events, functions, the sporting sections and regular hirers with opening hours as follows:

Sat 9am – 7pm

Sun 10am – 4pm

Tea and Coffee can be purchased at the bar outside of these times.

Social section

Adult Members of each sporting section are automatically social members of the main club but you don’t have to play a sport to join the club – many people join simply as social members in their own right. – The benefits of being a social member are numerous and include

Single membership is currently £55 for new/lapsed members per year, and just £45 for those renewing within one month of their annual renewal date. We now offer an additional card for £15 for another adult living at same address. (This gives all the benefits of the single social membership but is not a voting category).

Regular evening club events – members and non members welcome

1st Wednesday of the month – Jazz Night with the Fred Woods Big Band. Music starts at 8pm. Free to members. Visitors welcome, £2 entrance fee.

2nd Wednesday of the month – Quiz Night 7.30pm start. £2 per person, maximum 6 per team. Booking essential. It’s an old skool affair with pens, paper and a cut and pasted picture round.

Annual events

The club hosts a number of events during the year including our annual Fireworks Evening, ‘The Big Gig’ Music Festival in June, Caribbean Day and other events. Plus we host regular band nights, comedy nights and the sports sections hold social and fund raising events.
