Bar and Club update

A message from our bar manager....

I’ll start with the great news that we intend to open the bar on Monday 12th April if the Government Roadmap goes to plan.
At present the guidelines state that we can only operate with Table Service to customers seated outside but we’ll give you more details on our plans on that when we get closer to the date, along with news of our new ordering App and Table booking system, rest assured Members will get first dibs as we expect demand to be high.
We are also making the Beer Garden on the perimeter of the Cricket pitch more permanent this year and our valiant committee are working harder that the BBC Groundforce team making this happen. We are looking for a Sponsor for the Garden as there will be plenty of Social Media Advertising when we open it and banner space on its boundaries.
Please contact me if you are interested.

La Creperie will continue to open daily for all your catering needs and are adding Sunday Roasts and regular BBQ’s to their newly enhanced Menu. Read More

Tennis will begin on 29th March for members only, to begin, and Cricket looks like it will have a full season from April 17th albeit with some restrictions.

It’s turning out to be a slightly longer wait to welcome county cricket back to Horsham than we had hoped, but this is clearly the sensible decision for 2021. All the work that has gone into bringing Sussex back to Cricket Field Road won’t be wasted though and we are very excited at the prospect of hosting the team as part of our delayed 250th anniversary celebrations next year

All our cricketing coaching team and volunteers have been very active through the pandemic so keep your eye on our Social Media platforms to follow their great stories.
I will attach a full fixture list for 2021 with my next mail for all of you that want to sit in the Beer Garden and pretend you are watching.
(It’s easy, just clap when every else does and watch out for flying sixes).

We await news on Squash reopening, but it looks like Hockey may limited to a few end of season friendlies.

The Big Gig for this year was unluckily scheduled just the wrong side of the earliest date of lifting restrictions. With the uncertainty of rules beyond this and the amount of organising required, the sensible decision has been made to postpone until next year (Sat June 18th 2022). 2020 Tickets will be valid for the new date and if you have any problems attending this re-arranged date, please email admin@horshamsportsclub.com to register your query. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can. As you already know, the club‘s financial survival depends on The Big Gig and other fundraising events, so by again retaining your tickets until next year, you’ll help us continue to offer our services as a sports club.

We are very optimistic for a cracking summer at the Club and look forward to welcoming you back. We hope to hold some smaller events outside later in the year with fingers crossed for Fireworks meanwhile we want to recreate the amazing family atmosphere we created last year.

The Clubhouse is also available to hire for private parties from July 1st not forgetting members get 20% discount on room hire.
Until next time, keep safe.
