The Big Gig 2021 postponed – important update see below

Horsham Sports Club

New 2022 date announced!

We are now able to update you on the running of this year’s previously postponed THE BIG GIG. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

Postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic, the new proposed date for this year (19th June 2021) sits within the last phase of restricted social distancing measures, therefore cannot go ahead. Rather than setting a new date for this year under still uncertain conditions, we thought it safer for everyone to postpone again until 2022.

The NEW 2022 date for the event will be Saturday 18 June!

If you have already booked your ticket, good news, there’s nothing for you to do but to continue to sit tight and look forward to the event on the 18 June 2022, which plans to have the same tribute musical line-up: Bruno Mars, The Bee Gees, Elvis, Murdoch’s Crazy Eyes and headlining, The Spice Girls. Plus, there will still be oodles of children’s entertainment, face painting, gourmet food stalls and specialist drinks tents to enjoy throughout the day.

As you already know, The club’s financial survival depends on The Big Gig and other fundraising events, so by again retaining your tickets until next year, you’ll help us continue to offer our services as a sports club and allow us to keep on supporting local charities via our fundraising events.

If you have any problems attending this re-arranged date, please email to register your query. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.

We really cannot wait to see you next year for The Big Gig 2022 when we promise the event will be worth waiting for, planned to be bigger and better than ever! We will continue to keep you informed on social media, via Eventbrite and here on the club website

Keep safe and stay well, The Big Gig Team@HSC

Info below is for previous festivals and although it is highly likely to remain the same for future events we will be updating it nearer the 2022 event…but it is a helpful guide to answer the sorts of questions we generally get asked….

Hopefully we have covered everything you need to know, but if you can’t find the answer to your question then do please get in touch – you can ring us on 01403 254628 or email the club office on

Do we need to order a ticket for our children who are under 5 years of age?

Yes – there is a special Eventbrite ticket for U5s – you will not be charged for this. If you buy tickets from the club office or bar then we will make a note of your name and the number of U5s you are bringing to the event

Can I buy tickets over the phone?

No, but if you don’t want to buy them online then you can purchase them in person from the club itself. (Day/evening or weekends)

Will we be able to purchase tickets on the gate?

That depends if there are any tickets available. If there are, they will be sold at the main ticket entrance for cash only at £30pp (adult or child)

Can I bring alcohol into the festival?

Sorry, NO alcohol can be brought into the grounds. Only water or soft drinks will be allowed. Please note that no glass is permitted to be brought onto the ground. Bags will be checked on entrance to ensure safety. A large variety of specialist drinks tents will be available and the main club bar will be open all day/eve. Profits from the bar are vital to the club’s fundraising, so please don’t bring any alcohol to the event.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes you can bring food or cold soft drinks (no alcohol) in a rucksack/bag but please do not bring any coolers or hampers as we will have a range of food stalls to suit everyone’s tastes so why not treat yourselves! Disposable BBQs or other stoves are NOT permitted.

Is there parking at the festival and will I need to pay for it?

A limited amount of parking will be available (250 spaces) in the Barrackfield next to the club. Pre-bookable tickets for this are availible to buy here online for £7.00 and available from the club or M and J News. There are other parking places availible in town close to the grounds, such as supermarkets and local on street parking. We will allocate spaces as near to the event itself for disabled parking but please bear in mind that the event and parking is all on grass.

Can my tickets be refunded if I am unable to attend on the day?

Tickets are non-refundable and non-returnable but if you find you are unable to attend you can pass your ticket onto a friend or relative.

In the event of postoponment

In the event of postponement for any matters outside of our control, your ticket will be valid for the new date or the event the following year.

What time do the gates open?

The gates open at 1.00pm

Where is Horsham Sports Club?

We are located in Cricketfield Road, Horsham RH12 1TE – just a 5 minute walk from the town centre.

Can we bring a sun tent/gazebo to the festival?

Yes, but the size limit is 10ft by 10ft. It will need to be sited at the edge of the viewing area so that no one’s view of the bands is obscured. If all the space is taken then you may not be allowed to put your tent up. You can leave it overnight if you take it down before you go home and collect it the following day but we take no responsibility for it.

Will there be wheelchair access / disabled facilities?

We will try to make the festival as accessible as possible to those with special needs. An area of the car park will be designated as a disabled parking area for people with blue badges and will be available on a first come basis. This is a short distance across grass to the main arena. There are disabled toilet facilities in the arena and also a disabled WC in the HSC Clubhouse. If you have particular needs, get in touch with us in advance. We’ll do our best to help.

Can I get to the club on public transport?

The rail station is a 25 minute walk from the club, alternatively there is a public bus (no 98) which you can take from the rail station to the end of Cricketfield Road – the club is a 2 minute walk from here. The bus station is in the town centre and a few minutes’ walk from the club. For a map of the location click here (add link)

What else will there be at the festival?

There will be small fair rides suitable for children plus face painting, and inflatables

Will there be any covered areas if it rains?

This is an open air music festival and nothing is under cover. In the unlikely event of rain please bring your sou’westers and wellies – please feel free to set up your own gazebo (see note below)

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed, with the exception of registered assistance/guide dogs.

Will I be able to re-enter the festival if I leave during the day?

Ticket holders will be issued with a wrist band on arrival and they will need to show this if they wish to leave and re-enter the site at any time.

The Big Gig Official Event Photography/Video: There will be some filming and social media marketing happening during the event and after. By joining the event and by your presence here, you consent to be photographed or filmed. Your entry ticket constitutes your consent to such photography or filming and to any use on digital marketing media – social media, website, email on and after the event. If you do not want to appear in any said Marketing please make yourself known to a member of staff at the event.

Will there be seating?

There is no seating provided as the festival is mainly standing, but you may bring your own folding chairs and rugs if you wish.

What if the event is cancelled?

In the extremely unlikely situation that we need to cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control we will be unable to give any refunds.

What if one of the bands drops out at the last minute?

We reserve the right to alter any of the published acts if necessary, but will make every effort to replace them with a similar style act.
